unfortunately his mouth is full of really really sharp puppy teeth. so our play times usually start like this...

and then when we're done, we lay down and high five for a job well done!

potty break and birthday

for those of you that think puppy ownership is all dog treats and cuddle time, here's a horrific pic of myself during this morning's 1:42am potty break.



after having had two nights sans potty break, i wasn't pleased this morning when i heard him start to whine.

alas... ya gotta do what ya gotta do. BOLD --- those pics are for you man. happy now!!?! ;)

anyway, as mentioned in the title of this post... asher turns THREE MONTHS OLD today, so i took a few pics of him and did a fun little compare/contrast.

my favorite game to play outside with asher, besides just having him chase me, is to make my way to the opposite end of the yard, squat down and yell "COME GET ME!!"

he always turns towards me, his ears perk up, and then he comes BOUNDING towards me.

its adorable.

especially because the grass is about as tall as he is (what.. you expect *me* to mow?! as if.) and i can just see him jumping up between the blades as he races towards me.

i tried to capture it on my camera, but i'm not sure how well it worked out.

either way.. like i said.. its my favorite thing.

couch luvah

everything i ever read about ridgebacks was that they were BIG couch potatoes. they love to lounge around, they love to cuddle... they just love.

its one of the things that drew me to them. they've got a lot of stamina, so when they go... THEY GO! they're great running companions because of it.. they'll outlast you way before you'll outlast them...

but they're not hyper dogs INside. they lounge.
